Converting between lossless formats (PNG, BMP, TIFF) preserves quality. Converting to lossy formats (JPG, WebP) may reduce file size but with minimal quality loss at high quality settings.
When converting animated GIFs, only the first frame is preserved. For full animation conversion, keep the format as GIF or use WebP format which also supports animation.
Transparency is preserved when converting to formats that support it (PNG, WebP, GIF, TIFF). Converting to JPG will fill transparency with a white background.
